So what’s the point of making passive income and is it worth it? The short answer… yes it’s worth it!! Even if you don’t own any intellectual property you can make passive income with affiliate marketing. It’s easier to get started than you think. The most popular way is with Amazon Affiliate marketing. By creating an Amazon Associate account you can start earning! If you have a website, a blog, a YouTube channel or create any content that attracts attention, utilizing Amazon affiliate links for any of the products you use, review or mention within your content creation can earn you passive income.
An example of this would be that I am personally listening to “The Power of Habit” by Charles Duhigg. You can get it by clicking here if you are interested! The great thing about this type of marketing is that I feel good about sharing this item with someone who is interested in learning about this topic. I’m passionate about this topic, therefore I enjoy talking about it and that passion might come through to the person reading my blog or listening to my video. When you enjoy a product and want to share it with someone why not make a little bit of income along the way? If you think about it, you are providing marketing services, so you shouldn’t any problem being compensated for it.
There are many other affiliate marketing examples that I could share links to but I won’t inundate you with my own affiliate marketing as I drive the point home. However, I’ll mention a couple others and encourage you to investigate whether any service, product or content you enjoy offers any type of incentive for spreading the word! You will be surprised how many do! A few examples I have are website hosts, such as Squarespace and Bluehost just to name a couple. They offer incentives for affiliate marketing. A cloud server provider I use called Vultr does as well and so do several investing companies, such as E Trade, Robinhood and Coinbase.
Another way to earn passive income is to monetize a content platform such as YouTube. Or better yet, subscribe to my YouTube channel by clicking here! Okay… subscribing to my channel won’t earn you passive income, however, I do my best to add value and appreciate feedback, so if you are reading this blog post and end up at my YouTube channel you are probably someone that would appreciate the value I attempt to add. Okay back on task now! Another way to create passive income, if you have a blog is to monetize your content with adsense. Or, better yet, if you write a book, create videos or music you can license your content and you can earn royalties by allowing others to use your content.
Diving in a little deeper here, if you are a content creator, make videos, have a blog etc. you could consider making a course! There are people who have literally gone from rags to riches just from making courses on Udemy. Okay, okay, twist my arm, you can also link up with organizations to host your courses such as Skillshare, Stackskills or Lynda as well.
Other ways to make income online is by doing promotional content. Sometimes you will be paid with an upfront payment but frequently the compensation will be performance based and trackable so that you can earn passive income over time. As the company makes profits from the sales made due to the traffic your promotion drove to their business you will also be earning.
Last but not least you can design clothes! There are several services out there they make just about any generic clothing item you can think of, however, if you upload and/or design your own graphics you can advertise those items and make a profit of the sales! A service I am toying around with is called Teespring. You can check out my store here or better yet, while you’re there, create an account and design your own!
